Attention to .RU domain registrants - deadline April 1st 2010

The Russian authorities are now requesting all owners of already registered .RU domains to provide a company business certificate to your current provider. This business certificate has to correspond to your WHOIS information, which can be found at .RU WHOIS. IMPORTANT: We have to receive this document before April the 1st 2010, otherwise the .RU domains will be cancelled by the Russian authorities. If your current registrar has not informed you about this regulation then please contact us for a registrar transfer. You can use the Registry transfer form.

Why you should register .RU

Strengthen your online brand profile in Russia and improve your local Google ranking by using a Russian domain for the local language version of your web site. Studies have shown that local Internet users confide more in a local country code domain than .com for a website. Don´t wait too long to register your .ru domain name. 2 million .ru domains have already been registered. .ru is the main domain, while com.ru is used only by companies. We recommend to register both for brand protection. .рф is the new Cyrillic domain, which for the moment can only be registered if you have a matching trademark in the Russian trademark database.

How to start a .RU registration

To register a .ru domain there are no requirements, however you need to provide a copy of your business certificate. Registration time for a com.ru and .ru domain name is 5 working days, and your Russia domain will then be activated and redirected to your website. Free DNS is provided for any domain registration.
