DOMAINS ALLOWED

The following domains are available for a preliminary reservation under extension .გე:

a) Domains containing trademarks registered/protected in Georgia. Such domains will be registered in the name of trademark owners (as I have been explained, if the trademark owner is a foreign company, the domain will be registered in the name of the foreign company). The trademark owner may reserve and then register the .გე domain in the form of Georgian transliteration of the trademark and/or in the form of Georgian "replica" of the trademark. The trademark owners may also choose preferred syntax. Herewith we would like to provide some examples. For example, the trademark owner owns "LONSDALE" trademark. The trademark owner may reserve and then register the Georgian transliteration of the trademark "LONSDALE", i.e. ლონსდეილ.გე (sounding "lonsdeil.ge"). The trademark owner may also reserve and then register the Georgian "replica" of the trademark, i.e. ლონსდალე.გე (it will sound like you will read "lonsdale.ge" in Latin language, not like you will read in English language, in other words Latin (not English) pronunciation). The trademark owner may also choose a preferred syntax, e.g. ლონს-დეილ.გე ("lons-deil.ge"), ლონს-დალე.გე ("lons-dale.ge" - Latin pronunciation). Or lets take for example trademark "APPLE" - for example the following is available: ეპლ.გე or ეპპლ.გე (sounding "epl.ge" or "eppl.ge" - Latin language pronunciation), აპპლე.გე ("apple.ge" - Latin language (not English language) pronunication). Documents and information necessary for reservation and registration of the .გე domain containing trademark registered/protected in Georgia is as follows: copy of trademark registration/renewal certificate issued by the Georgian Trademark Office "SAKPATENTI", ID number (tax ID number) of the trademark owner, authorization letter executed like we usually request (template of the authorization letter is enclosed to this message). If the matter concerns the international trademark protected in Georgia, we will have to submit a request to the Georgian Trademark Office "SAKPATENTI" requesting them to issue a letter evidencing that the international trademark has a territorial extension and is protected in Georgia. As I have been explained, if the matter concerns the international trademark, the .გე domains Registry will accept only this kind of letters from "SAKPATENTI". At present our service fee for submitting each such request to "SAKPATENTI" is 20 USD;

b) Georgian "replica" of domains registered under extension .ge . Reservation of Georgian transliteration of such domains is not available. For example: there is a registered domain lonsdale.ge . If reservation of the .გე extension domain will be claimed on the basis of the registered .ge extension domain, then reservation of only ლონსდალე.გე ("lonsdale.ge" - Latin language pronunciation, not English language pronunciation) is available. Another example: apple.ge - reservation of only აპპლე.გე ("apple.ge" - Latin language pronunciation, not English language pronunciation) will be available.

Generally, making reservation based on trademark is preferable from all points of view, as it is possible to reserve and then register both Georgian transliteration and Georgian "replica" in the name of the trademark owner.
