How do I setup a mail forward?

Please make sure that your domain is on our servers. In your account go to the DNS administration link. You will see the complete list of domains in "All". Select Wizard. On the menu to the left choose New mailforward. Insert either a name for a specific email or * in order to receive all emails sent to your domain. Insert the email below to where emails should be forwarded and press submit.

The .CO domain launch starts at 19h CET Today! The well of good .com domain names is dried up. In comes .CO domain which is expected to become a premier top level domain. Today is your chance to get hold of some great .CO domains.

The General release for .co domains will open on July 20th at 19h CET. You can already apply now via the domain search box:

For the last 3 months companies have registered their premium domain names. We recommend you to apply for less popular .co domains as there will be less competition. Thousands of applications will be send in at the same time, so no chance to get hotels.co or travel.co, however hotelsparis.co and travelsinspain.co are decent opportunities to get great domains. It is not allowed to apply for trademark infringing domains like facebook.co (unless you are Facebook!).

What you need to know before applying

In order to be valid the trademark has to be registered before July 30 2008. There is no geograhic limitation. If there is more than one valid applicant, then an auction will be held at the end of the sunrise period. Domains are activated right after June 10th. The domain has to match the trademark exactly. Only the characters a-z and 0-9 can be used, so if your trademark contains other characters such as é or á, then you can replace them with a or e. Symbols such a & will be omitted. If the trademark contains of more than one word you can register your .CO domains with the words together or with a hyphen (-)

Why is the .CO domain so important for trademark holders?

Beautiful visions about .co as an intutitive and memorable domain, .co as abbreviation for COmpany, COnnect, COmmunicate or COoperation are all very well. However, there is only ONE reason why you should register your .CO domains. It is estimated that 10-15% of all URL searches are mis-spelled, meaning that .co domains like travel.co and insurance.co will be important mis-spelled traffic drivers for travel.com or insurance.com. This also means that brand names such as Apple and Microsoft will be abused. Last year we saw the same issue with .CM, however .CO is different as it is even easier to misspell.

So profit now. Apply for your .CO domain by inserting the domain in the search box below. A 2 year registration has a cost of Eur 150. In the rare case that there are more applicants, and you don´t obtain the domain in the auction, then the fee is non-refundable.

TIMELINE FOR .CO DOMAIN LAUNCH

Global Sunrise [April - June 2010]

Eligibility to participate in the Global Sunrise for .CO domain names will be limited to holders of trademarks that:

  1. were registered and were in full force and effect on or before July 30, 2008;
  2. are registered in a trademark office or registry that corresponds to a state or entity described in the WIPO Standard ST.3 code [http://www.wipo.int/standards/en/pdf/03-03-01.pdf]; and
  3. fully comply with any and all other specified terms and conditions in the .CO Sunrise Policy.

Applications will not be granted on a first-come first-served basis, but rather will be collected through the final date of Global Sunrise. In the event that there is more than one entity applying for the same .CO domain name, with each of them have corresponding trademarks, the name will go to auction.
